How to Donate

Thank you for your interest in learning how to make a positive impact in the lives of shelter animals. In this page, you will find a variety of options and suggestions for making your donation. Remember, your donations help provide shelter, care, and love to animals in need.

Donate Items from our Amazon Wishlist

Browse through our Amazon wish list to see items that can be donated, such as food, bedding, toys, and medical supplies, directly benefiting animals in need. Items will be shipped directly to the shelter and you will have the opportunity to let us know who sent it.

Online Donations

We now have the ability to accept donations online!

Simply click the link below and select "Animal Donations" and you will be able to enter your debit or credit card information for a one-time donation.

City Utility Bills

Donations can be made through your monthly City of Sugar Land water bill, either online or by cash/check. Designate on your bill that the funds are for the shelter donations fund.

Cash Donations

Donations can be made in person at the shelter during business hours with cash, check or credit card. There is a donation box inside the shelter.

Checks can be mailed to Animal Services at the address below, please specify that it is a donation to the shelter:

Cash donations are kept in a fund separate from the shelter's general operating budget. Funds are used to provide enriched services including medical care and training that would otherwise not be available through the shelter.

Physical Donations Drop Off

Donated supplies can be dropped off in the red bin located near the front door of the shelter (under the walkway cover). Towels, blankets and other non-perishable supplies suitable for animal use can be left in the bin at any time.

If you prefer, you are welcome to bring donations into our lobby during normal operating hours. There is a small bin in the lobby to leave donations. All donations are greatly appreciated!

Please do not leave donations at the textile recycling drop off in the parking lot.

Unacceptable Donation Items: 

  • Human bed or throw pillows (shelter will accept dog beds) 
  • Newspaper 
  • Rawhide/pig ears 
  • Cat Litter 
  • Pet Medication

Donate towards the new Animal Shelter!

The Sugar Land Legacy Foundation, in partnership with the City of Sugar Land, is launching a capital campaign for additional enhancements to Sugar Land's new Animal Shelter! Approved by Sugar Land voters in the 2019 and 2024 G.O. Bond Elections, the new Animal Shelter will replace the existing shelter.
