Teen Police Academy

The Teen Academy is a new program developed to engage students in a variety of topics designed to foster relationships, trust and understanding between officers and teens. Participants will have an opportunity to gain an understanding of police operations through specialized presentations and hand-on activities.

The two week academy will be held at the Sugar Land Police Department.

The academy's schedule is available below, please note that dates are subject to change. 

Requirements

Requirements for consideration include:

  • Commitment to attend all sessions (Mondays through Fridays, from 8 a.m. to noon).
  • Be a currently enrolled incoming Freshman to incoming Senior, ages 14-18
  • Be a resident of or zoned to a public or private school within the city of Sugar Land or its extra-territorial jurisdiction.
  • Provide a parental release.
  • Provide a medical release.
  • Answer all application questions.

Classes are limited to 20 students per session.

How to Apply

You must sign up through the teen PD academy application.

  • Registered Serve Sugar Land volunteers begin your application under "I already have a username".
  • New volunteers register/apply under "I am new to MyImpactPage.com".
