Residents making use of the railroad crossings from Dairy Ashford to Eldridge on Wednesday, May 18, should expect delays. Union Pacific will be making upgrades to the crossing warning system in the City of Stafford which will cause intermittent interruptions to the crossings in Sugar Land. Union Pacific Railroad will have traffic control flaggers in place at these crossings for safety and traffic flow management. The delays are expected to begin at 7 a.m. and take approximately 12 – 16 hours. Dates and times are subject to change due to weather or as needed.
Residents are asked to be mindful of work crews, expect traffic delays, and when possible, avoid the area to prevent traffic congestion. Visit its.sugarlandtx.gov for more information on Sugar Land travel time data.
