[ARCHIVED] Dairy Ashford Rd. – Road Widening Project

Update: November 21
The left lane of southbound Dairy Ashford (between Julie Rivers and HWY 90) will be closed for traffic starting on Monday, November 25.

Motorists should expect delays, adhere to all construction signage and be cautious in the immediate area. Visit its.sugarlandtx.gov for more information on Sugar Land travel time data.

Update: October 17
The old northbound inside lane of Dairy Ashford between Hwy 90 and Julie Rivers will close for reconstruction on Tuesday, October 22.

Additional project updates:

  • All northbound Dairy Ashford lanes on the south side of Hwy 90 will open.
  • The two newly constructed northbound outside lanes of Dairy Ashford between Hwy 90 and Julie Rivers will open.

Motorists are asked to follow posted detour route, adhere to all construction signage and be cautious in the immediate area. Visit its.sugarlandtx.gov for more information on Sugar Land travel time data.

Update: October 14
The following closures will take place on Dairy Ashford starting Tuesday, October 15 through Friday, October 18:

  • One through lane on eastbound Hwy 90
  • A left-turn lane onto southbound Dairy Ashford from westbound Hwy 90

The right turn onto northbound Dairy Ashford from westbound Hwy 90 has reopened and currently, only one left turn lane onto northbound Dairy Ashford from eastbound Hwy 90 is closed.

Update: October 8
The right turn onto northbound Dairy Ashford from westbound Hwy 90 will be closed for traffic starting on Thursday, October 10. The pavement within this turning radius will be reconstructed.

Update: September 5, 2019
Northbound Dairy Ashford (between US 90A and Julie Rivers Drive) will be reduced to one lane beginning Monday, September 9, 2019. This lane reduction is for the reconstruction of the existing outside lane and construction of a new third lane.

In order to facilitate this lane reduction, northbound Dairy Ashford (prior to US 90A) will be reduced to:

  • One left-turn only lane
  • One shared left and through lane
  • One right-turn-only lane
  • The existing two through lanes will be closed for the duration of the northbound improvements

Update: August 22, 2019
Rail Crossing on Dairy Ashford

Construction work will take place on the Dairy Ashford rail crossings on August 27. Removal of the wayside horns will take place. During the construction at the crossing, trains will be blowing their horns while the wayside horns are down.

Update: August 12,2019
A traffic switch will take place on southbound Dairy Ashford Rd. beginning Monday, August 12, 2019.  Southbound Dairy Ashford right turn onto Julie Rivers Dr. will close. Motorists will be directed to turn right on Corporate Dr. to Julie Rivers Dr.

Northbound Dairy Ashford left turn on to Julie Rivers Dr. remains closed.  Motorists are directed to Corporate Dr. to Julie Rivers Dr.

Improving Mobility within Sugar Land
This project is in partnership with Fort Bend County and signifies an investment in mobility improvements and traffic management in the State Highway 90A corridor. The project is part of ongoing efforts to improve mobility along major thoroughfares through Sugar Land, including State Highway 6, U.S. Highway 90A, University Boulevard and Dairy Ashford.
