At the January 28, 2025, City Council meeting, the Council approved the recommendations from the 2023-2024 Charter Review Committee to increase the term length for Municipal Judges and Associate Judges from two years to four years. This approval allowed staff to add the proposed amendment to the ballot.
On February 4, 2025, the City Council adopted Ordinance 2369, officially calling the election for this charter amendment.
If approved by voters, this change will amend Article 4: Administrative Offices and Departments, Section 4.06(b) – Municipal Court of the City Charter.
