Establishment
The Zoning Board of Adjustment was established by Ordinance No. 774 and approved by Sugar Land City Council November 5, 1991.
Purpose
To hear appeals from administrative decisions, hear and decide special exceptions and variances, and interpret the intent of the zoning ordinance.
Duties & Responsibilities
The City Charter provides that a zoning board of adjustment is established. The board has the powers and duties as provided by state law and city ordinance to hear and decide appeals from administrative decisions, hear and decide special exceptions and variances, and to interpret the intent of the zoning district ordinance.
