City of Sugar Land Host City Supporter Volunteers

FIFA World Cup 2026™ is coming to Houston, and the City of Sugar Land is proud to support as an Official World Cup 2026™ Houston Host.

This historic tournament will bring fans from around the world to our region, and volunteers will play an important role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for everyone who visits.

Volunteers will help support community events, welcome visitors, provide information to fans and assist with activities connected to the tournament. Opportunities may include watch parties, community festivals, airport activations, youth sports events and other special celebrations throughout the city. From greeting international guests to helping with local events, volunteers will help showcase the energy and hospitality that make Sugar Land such a special place.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of the world’s largest sporting event while representing our community.

Who Can Volunteer

To participate in World Cup volunteer opportunities with the City of Sugar Land, individuals must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Complete the Serve Sugar Land Volunteer application
• Successfully pass a background check
• Complete the Serve Sugar Land Volunteer Handbook
• Attend a required training session
• Commit to a minimum of eight volunteer activities or shifts, including training

Knowledge of additional languages is encouraged but not required.

Once your application is submitted:

• Complete the required background check
• Review and complete the Volunteer Handbook
• Sign up for and attend a training session

After completing training, you will be able to register for World Cup volunteer opportunities as they become available.
