Sugar Land's Great Homes Initiative

Great Homes is a residential reinvestment initiative created to empower Sugar Land’s homeowners (both our residents and our workforce) to invest in their community by preserving, protecting, and enhancing Sugar Land’s single-family housing and neighborhood areas. There are two programs under Great Homes: Great Homes Design Program and the Great Homes Update Program.

Year Three Accomplishments

In the fiscal year 2025, the Great Homes Update Program facilitated the completion of 62 projects. With a $200,000 investment from the City of Sugar Land, $1.65 million worth of home exterior improvements were incentivized. This translates to an impressive ratio: for every $1 invested by the City, Sugar Land residents spent $8 on enhancing their homes. The most popular project types were windows, siding, painting, and driveways.

To date, over 155 design vouchers have been distributed as part of the Great Homes Design Program. These vouchers provide residents with design renderings, empowering them to beautify and enhance their homes effectively.
