Lt. Dustin Watkins

Beat 6 Manager

Dustin Watkins is a law enforcement leader with nearly two decades of experience in patrol, investigations, and supervision. Born in Chicago and raised in Houston, he earned an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Houston Community College.

He began his career in 2007 with the Harris County Precinct 5 Constable’s Office before joining the Sugar Land Police Department in 2011. Throughout his career, Dustin has served as a Field Training Officer, Impact Team Officer, Patrol Sergeant, CID Sergeant, and currently as Lieutenant on night shift.

Dustin is a State-certified Instructor, Master Peace Officer, and an Advance Interrogator. He has taught department training programs, conducted background investigations, and remains committed to professional development.

He looks forward to his role as the Beat 6 Manager and continuing to serve the community in that capacity.

Officer Stuart Sanderson

Stuart Sanderson moved to Texas with his family when he was ten and grew up in the Hill Country before moving to Huntsville to start College at Sam Houston State University. Upon graduation he was hired by the Sugar Land Police Department and sent to the University of Houston Downtown Police Academy before beginning assigned to the Patrol Division.

In 11 years with the Police Department he has had the opportunity to work on Patrol, The Impact Unit, and the Training Unit, before moving to his current position with Crime Prevention. Officer Sanderson enjoys spending time with family, sports, hunting, and fishing in his free time.
