Municipal Pool at City Park

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Municipal Pool will be closed until further notice.

The Municipal Pool at City Park is 25 yards long and ranges from 3-12 feet in depth. The pool has two 1-meter diving boards. The Municipal Pool is home to the Sugar Land Sharks swim team.

Municipal Pool Rules:
All guests must obey the directions of the lifeguards.

Food is permitted in grass areas and at picnic tables.

Diving is permitted in water five (5) feet of deeper.

Children under the age of eight (8) years must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Only U.S. Coast Guard-approved lifejackets are permitted. No arm floaties are permitted. Lifejackets are available if needed.

The following is prohibited:
  • Foul language
  • Horseplay (pushing, shoving, fighting)
  • Alcohol
  • Cut-Off Shorts
  • Pets
  • Running
  • Smoking
  • Diapers (unless specifically diapers for swimming)
  • Chewing Gum
  • Large floats and baby floats with no bottoms

 2020 Swim Lessons 

Swim Lessons are scheduled at the Municipal Pool this summer. These classes will be offered at all levels and are taught by certified swim lesson instructors. Each session is scheduled for two weeks, Tuesday-Thursday. Registration for all classes will begin on March 1 (though there may be delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic).

Dates: Sessions ongoing May 12–Aug. 13
Time: Class times range from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. start times
Cost: $73 per session for Residents or $88 per session for Non-Residents
