About Our Department
Sugar Land Parks & Recreation owns and maintains over 2,400 acres of parkland and over 20 miles of trails. The Department maintains 27 parks, which include amenities such as playgrounds, sports fields, canoe launches, disc golf courses, a skate park, dog park, BMX faclity, concession stands and more. The Department also owns and maintains the municipal pool at City Park, as well as 2 splashpads.
Sugar Land Parks & Recreation offers a variety of recreational programs for seniors, adults and youth of the community, including numerous leisure classes, fitness classes, day camps, athletic camps, and more.
The Recreation Division also manages facility rentals and reservations for park and City facilities.
Sugar Land Parks & Recreation hosts a large variety of special events throughout the year, including the City’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony, Red, White and BOOM July 4 Celebration, Christmas Tree Lighting and more.
Maintenance & Development
The Maintenance and Development Division maintains the City’s parks, trails, splashpads and 2 special use facilities to ensure optimal safety, functionality and cleanliness for residents.
