Sugar Land Animal Shelter is facing an unprecedented challenge. Due to an overwhelming influx of animals in need of care, we have been forced to temporarily close our doors to new intakes. Our kennels are at full capacity, and we urgently need the help of our community to continue our mission of providing a safe space for these animals.

As a shelter, we never want to turn animals away, but right now, we are at a breaking point. We are doing everything we can to care for the animals in our shelter, but without additional support from fosters, adopters, rescues and volunteers, we are struggling to meet the growing demand.

Here's how you can make a difference:

• Foster: If you have the space and time, consider fostering an animal temporarily. This provides relief for the shelter and gives animals a chance to thrive in a home environment.
• Adopt: If you're looking for a furry friend, now is the perfect time to adopt. We are waiving all adoption fees from March 14th to March 23rd to encourage more adoptions and help find forever homes for these deserving pets. Three months of heartworm prevention is included with your adoption, while supplies last.
• Rescue: We are thankful for the Rescues that have answered our call for help over the years but welcome any new programs we have not had the opportunity to work with.

To accommodate the increased need, we have extended our hours and are now open Sundays from 10 AM to 2 PM.
