Sugar Land, TX. February 28, 2025 - The City of Sugar Land invites residents to its inaugural community service day, Lend a Hand, Sugar Land, on Saturday, April 12.
This citywide volunteer event will begin at 7:00 a.m. at the Smart Financial Centre parking lot, where volunteers will receive assignments, supplies, and a boost of community spirit. Opportunities to serve will include yard work, painting, window washing, cleaning, and flower planting—all aimed at enhancing public spaces and supporting those in need.
To make this event a success, the City is seeking donations and sponsorships from businesses, organizations, and individuals. Contributions like tools, supplies, food, or financial support will help equip volunteers and maximize the impact of this day of service.
"Lend a Hand, Sugar Land is about more than just beautifying our city - it’s about bringing our community together,” said Carrie Paxton-Lamke, Assistant Communications and Community Engagement Director. “It’s an opportunity to empower individuals to create meaningful change through acts of service while ensuring Sugar Land remains a vibrant and welcoming community—as sweet as its name.”
