How is the budget created?
The City of Sugar Land’s fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30. The budget process begins in March with preliminary discussions with the City Council, and the proposed budget is filed by the city manager in July. A series of budget workshops is held in August to review the proposed budget with City Council, and the final budget is adopted in September.
