Sugar Land, TX – The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) Class of 2019-2020 will graduate on Aug. 18.
The class represents the 15th year of the program with a total of 33 students participating from 10 area high schools.
MYAC empowers youth to become active community members and commit to making a lasting impact in their city through local government public service.
Students learned how Sugar Land’s government functions and the opportunities they have to get involved. Throughout the past year, MYAC students met with the police and fire chiefs and staff from multiple departments, toured city facilities, volunteered with local organizations and met their local elected officials to discuss current affairs.
