Celebrate Independence Day at The Crown Festival Park with patriotic family fun and activities for all ages! There will be a variety of great food and beverages, live music and entertainment, community booths, activities, photo opportunities and to top off the evening, a spectacular firework and laser show!
Gates open at 5 p.m.
Entertainment, food and activities from 6 - 8:45 p.m.
Fireworks will begin at approximately 9 p.m.

Limited onsite parking will be available and will fill up quickly. We encourage attendees to arrive early (5 p.m.)
- Paved parking lots will be available for those with handicap and parking permits in addition to limited general parking.
- The fair weather parking lot will be available for general parking.
Getting to The Crown Festival Park can be a little tricky but we have directions to help your trip go smoother!
A free shuttle service will be available to attendees from the University of Houston Sugar Land and Smart Financial Centre and is strongly encouraged. Shuttles will run continuously from 5 p.m. – 12 a.m. All shuttle traffic will halt for the launching of our fireworks from 8:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. The last shuttle will leave the shuttle lots at 8:30 p.m. Please plan accordingly. No large coolers are allowed on the shuttle and attendees are encouraged to pack lightly.

Taxi and Uber Service
An additional option for attendees are Taxi and Uber services, at the expense of the attendee. There will be designated pick up and drop off areas located at Smart Financial Centre. Attendees using ride sharing services will then be able to take the free shuttle to the event site.
What Not to Bring
Any large item that won’t fit on the shuttle or will be difficult to load off and on the shuttle.
- Illegal substances.
- Drugs or drug paraphernalia.
- Laser pointers and air horns.
- Drones, remote-controlled aircraft.
- Cigarettes, cigars, or pipes. Smoking is prohibited at The Crown Festival Park.
- Fireworks of any kind including sparklers.
- Pets are allowed on leashes only. Owners are responsible for picking up after their pets.

Q: Do I need a ticket to enter?
A: No, tickets are not required and entry to the event is free.
Q: Where should I park?
A: Limited parking is available onsite. We encourage attendees to take the shuttle to avoid traffic delays. Shuttle services are available at both The University of Houston-Sugar Land and Smart Financial Centre. Uber and taxis are also welcome to drop off passengers at the University of Houston.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The event will take place rain or shine. Cancellation will only take place if there are severe thunderstorms and/or lightning in the surrounding area during the time of the event.
Q: Can I bring my own food and BBQ pit?
A: Food trucks and various vendors will be offering an assortment of food and beverage options, including wine and beer, for purchase. Event attendees are strongly encouraged to purchase food from the onsite vendors. Personal BBQ pits are not allowed onsite.
Q: What time should I arrive?
A: In our efforts to maximize the guest experience, we strongly suggest arriving at the event early. Gates open at 5 p.m. Expect traffic delays closer to the time of fireworks at approximately 9 p.m. All shuttle traffic will halt for the launching of our fireworks from 8:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Q: Will transportation be offered to reach the festival from parking locations?
A: Yes, buses will shuttle attendees from and to designated parking areas at the University of Houston Sugar Land and Smart Financial Centre from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. except during the firework show.
Q: Are pets allowed on the shuttle?
A: Only service animals are allowed on the shuttle buses.
Q: Can I bring a stroller onto the shuttle?
A: Yes, travel / foldable strollers and foldable chairs are allowed to take onto the shuttle buses.
Q: Are folding chairs and canopies permitted?
A: Yes. Attendees are welcome to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. Canopies are allowed, but will need to be placed away from the stage so as to not obstruct the view from other attendees.
Q: Are attendees required to wear masks?
A: Masks are optional on the shuttle buses.
Q: Can I bike to the event?
A: Walking and biking is encouraged; however for the safety of all of our attendees, please make sure to use the sidewalks instead of the roadway and cross at designated crossings.
Q: How do I find out if the event is canceled?
A: We plan to hold the event rain or shine; however, if dangerous conditions arise, or activities need to be adjusted or changed, we will post regular updates on our Facebook page.
