The Mayor's Youth Advisory Council 2023 Yearbook

The mission of the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (MYAC) is to empower youth to become active members in their community by providing students with an overview of the complexity of local government and the opportunities they have to impact the future of Sugar Land through public service.

Over the last few months, MYAC members participated in team-building and brainstorming exercises, had one-on-one discussions with elected officials as well as city staff and management on current topics. Additionally, the class presented projects to the Mayor, which focused on real issues that staff faces and will be working with staff to implement the recommendations

The class began with an Induction Ceremony in November and concluded with a City Council Recognition on May 16, 2023. The MYAC Class of 2023 represents the 18th year of the program with 32 students from 9 different local high schools.
