Meet Dimas Renteria
Dimas is a Line Crew Supervisor for GlobalSelect at Sugar Land Regional Airport, and this is a day in his life. We couldn’t be more thankful for Dimas and the whole team over at KSGR for the work they do to keep the airport running and supporting the Sugar Land economy along the way.
The Sugar Land Regional Airport received a $12 million dollar grant from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This grant is believed to be the largest single grant allocated by TxDOT. The grant is to fund a portion of the Taxiway F Relocation Project. This has been undertaken due to a mandate by the FAA to maintain proper separation between the runway and taxiway. Current progress on the project has allowed the Airport to open over 5,000 feet of new pavement to aircraft traffic. This includes new LED lights, signs, and markings. This also involves renaming our entire taxiway system. The next steps will be to construct new connectors from the taxiway to the runway.
Please join us in congratulating the Sugar Land Regional Airport Air Traffic Control Tower and their team on winning Robinson Aviation’s Facility of the Year Award. This award is given to a facility that performs well during outstanding conditions. The Tower and their team worked diligently through Super Bowl 51 and Hurricane Harvey, which makes this a recognition well-deserved.
The Airport would also like to recognize the hard work and dedication of the Fixed Based Operator (FBO) Team at GlobalSelect for their excellent showing this year in two of the top FBO surveys. GlobalSelect was named in these 2018 surveys:
- #5 FBO in the United States – Pro Pilot PRASE Survey
- #3 Best Independent FBO – Pro Pilot PRASE Survey
- #2 FBO in the Houston Metro Area – AIN Survey
- Listed in the top 5% of FBOs Nationwide – AIN Survey
