October is Fire Prevention Month!
This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign, “Learn the Sounds of Fire Safety!” works to educate everyone about the different sounds the smoke and carbon monoxide alarms make.
Knowing what to do when an alarm sounds will keep you and your family safe. When an alarm makes noises – a beeping sound or a chirping sound – you must take action. Visit www.nfpa.org for more information.
Community Event Request Request Sugar Land Fire - EMS do a drive-by or parade for a special event. Schedule a smoke alarm check/installation or fire extinguisher training. Please provide at least 2 weeks advance notice.

Stay Safe when Cooking!
Stay safe when you are cooking! Don't leave cooking food unattended, and if you have to leave the room, keep an oven mitt, a wooden spoon, or any other object with you to remind yourself that you are cooking. Also, make sure to check your smoke alarms regularly and replace the batteries once a year.
