Deadline for Concert Venue RSI Closes with Five Proposals Received

Sugar Land, TX - Continued progress being made towards the development of an indoor concert & entertainment venue in Sugar Land.

The deadline to respond to the City's formal Request for Solicitation of Interest (RSI) on the Concert Venue project closed on February 12, 2010 and the City received five proposals from interested groups. The City is now evaluating these submittals along a wide array of criteria with the goal of selecting a partner to begin development negotiations in the coming months.

Moving along a similar tract, the City Council approved a Letter of Intent with Opening Day Partners, LLC (ODP) on May 18, 2010 establishing ODP as the City’s exclusive development partner for the design, construction and funding of a professional minor league baseball stadium—built to MLB’s Triple A standards with numerous family-oriented amenities—in Sugar Land.
