Through r.a.d. KIDS training, children become empowered and learn to replace the fear, confusion, and panic or dangerous situations with confidence, personal safety skills, and self-esteem and enhances the ability of children and parents to utilize knowledge, skills, and power to protect themselves from violence and harm.
r.a.d. KIDS, the national leader in children's safety, has brought to children and parents by the training and development of nationally certified instructors drawn from their own communities. Endorsed by the Elizabeth Smart and Polly Klass Foundations, r.a.d. KIDS has become the premier safety education program amongst young people today. The Girls Scouts of America have created a merit badge for Brownies completing this training.
This program is open to boys and girls kindergarten through 6th grade (ages 5 to 12) and covers virtually all aspects of child safety awareness. This 10 hour program will keep the child active in learning about safety and conflict avoidance. At the conclusion of this training, each child will be able to demonstrate their learned abilities in simulated confrontations to include a simulated call to 911 to report their emergency.
Training Schedule
Friday Feb. 5, 6 - 9 p.m.
Saturday Feb. 6, 4 - 7 p.m.
Sunday Feb. 7, 2 - 6 p.m.
Training Cost
Training Costs are $25.00 for first child and $20.00 for each sibling.
Sugar Land PD will not collect fees in advance. Fee covers manual and cost of equipment.

75,00 children have been trained in the r.a.d.KIDS personal Empowerment Safety education program.
23 children threatened with abduction used their skills and returned safely to their families .
Hundreds of children spoke up and got the help needed to stop the abuse.
Taught by certified r.a.d.KIDS instructors, Jim and Sandra Baylor will work with you kids to provide a fun, safe, educational environment from which your children will learn effective safety strategies.
