Sugar Land Police Support Services

Captain Mike Lund is responsible for the Support Division which includes Animal Control, Public Safety Dispatch, Detention, Property/Evidence and Records. The bureau provides ancillary services to the officers of the Department as well as the community.

Sections:

Public Safety Dispatch
The Public Safety Dispatch Section is the public's first contact with the Police Department. These employees receive the initial call for service, and make sure that the appropriate Police, Fire, or E.M.S. personnel are sent to the scene.

Property/Evidence
The Property/Evidence Department was formed in October 2004.The Property Room personnel do a lot of detective work including case research, attempting to locate owners of property, and attempting to locate property. They work closely with other departments within the police department as well as outside agencies such as the DPS Houston Crime Lab, HPD Computer Forensics and the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office.

Records
The Records Section of the Sugar Land Police Department is responsible for maintaining all records in the Department including but not limited to, all offense and arrest reports and all internal records generated by the Department.

Dention

The Detention section operates the Sugar Land Police Department's jail facilities.
