9-1-1E (Enhanced)
The Communications Section, of the Sugar Land Police Department operates through two separate telephone systems. The first is the 9-1-1E system, which is considered the enhanced version of the "Emergency Only" system. This 9-1-1 system is administrated by the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network . Under the 9-1-1E system, the telecommunication operator sees the telephone number calling, the owner of that number, as well as the address. Additional locations will be displayed on a map so that the Telecommunications Operator can view this "call" in relationship to other calls which will be displayed.
The second phone system is the normal business system that the Department has contracted with AllTel telephone systems. This system is used to take non-emergency calls and conduct normal business. The non-emergency phone number for police communications is 281-275-2525. Please use this number for all non-emergency calls.
