2009 HALLOWEEN TOWN
Colorful characters filled the City's Town Square on Saturday October 31st for our second annual Halloween Town event. Ghosts and spooky creatures mingled with superheroes and a myriad of other characters to enjoy a night of trick-or-treating and fun Halloween activities and entertainment.
In the center of the plaza, setting the scene, was a special 1884 Hearse carriage display, provided by the National Museum of Funeral History. This made a great backdrop for photos taken throughout the night.
A highlight of the event was the costume contest for children and pets. The judges had a hard time choosing their winners from all the wonderfully creative entries. A special thanks goes to this years' judges - Ephraim from Wardrobe -The Boutique, located in Sugar Land Town Square and Ingrid and Nancy from Sugar Land Pet Nanny.
Other local businesses and community organizations provided plenty of activities to keep even three-armed monsters busy and the brave of heart could take a haunted horse and carriage ride around the Square.
As part of the City’s 50th Anniversary celebrations commemorative chocolates were given to trick-or-treaters at the City's 50th Anniversary booth. Other treats were also available at retailers throughout the Square.
This year's Halloween Town closed with a Movie under the Moon, which could be enjoyed with free popcorn before it was time for all Halloween characters to go to bed.
