Saturday, March 27th 2010
Noon - 3pm
Eldridge Park, 2511 Eldridge Road (77478)

All eager egg hunters and fans of the Easter Bunny are once again invited to the City's 26th Annual EGGStravaganza to be held at Eldridge Park on Saturday 27th March from noon - 3pm.

Our unique version of egg hunts, famously titled `egg scrambles’, will be open to children up to 12 years old according to the schedule shown below. Eggs scrambles for children with special needs will be back again this year, following a successful trial in 2009. The special needs scramble area will include beeping eggs for the vision impaired and a hay bale course with eggs hidden at accessible heights for children in wheelchairs.

Photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny, entertainment and plenty of fun activities will also abound to make this another memorable day in the park for Sugar Land families, friends and neighbors.

This is a free event, open to the public.

Egg Scramble Schedule

Egg scrambles are held throughout the event, based on age groups. Parents should note that each scramble lasts about one minute and is not repeated.

To avoid missing out, children should be at the scramble for their age group on time.

The 2010 egg scramble schedule is as follows:

  • Ongoing throughout the event for special needs children
  • Ongoing throughout the event for 4 year olds and younger
  • 12:30 p.m. for 5 year olds
  • 1:00 p.m. for 6 years olds

  • 2:00 p.m. for 8 & 9 year olds
  • 2:30 p.m. for 10, 11 & 12 year olds

Activities

When not scrambling for eggs, there will be plenty of activities and entertainment for children, their families and the young at heart.

Making a very special appearance will be the Easter Bunny, who always hops in for this occasion. Free photos with the Easter Bunny for the first 200 lucky people will be available throughout the event.

Other activities will include:

  • Music, games and competitions with DJ Tyler
  • Mini-manicures, tattoos and hair coloring at the Snip-Its booth
  • A petting zoo with real bunnies and other special friends to hold and pet
  • Recycle Ben - the human trash can - who will be reminding us all to recycle and help care for our earth
  • Activities provided by local community and business groups

Refreshments

The Sugar Land Lion's Club will be selling drinks and tasty treats from the Pavilion at the park.

Public parking will be available at Eldridge Park, with overflow parking available at the Cornerstone Church parking lot adjacent to the park.
