This group offers special outings and day trips to explore the Texas Gulf Coast and beyond.
All return times are approximate and subject to change. 

  • Adventure Policies:
    Effective 2010 all adventure participants will need a Sugar Land Senior ID.
    Fees are due two (2) weeks prior to any one-day adventure and one month prior to all overnight adventures.
    Adventures that do not meet minimum number of participants two weeks prior to the trip date we reserve the right to cancel the trip.
    Overnight adventures that do not meet minimum number of participants one month prior will be canceled.

Shangri La

Friday, March 19

We are off to visit the Shangri La Botanical Gardens in Orange, Texas. Our tour will include a nature walk in the gardens and a boat tour of the Cypress/Tupelo Swamp. The walking tour of the gardens is approximately one mile in length. Be sure to wear appropriate shoes and clothing for this adventure.

Fishing

We had such a great time fishing in September, we decided we needed to go again! Don't forget to get your Fishing License and Red Fish stamp for the trip. Fishing equipment and bait is provided by the boat operator.

Depart from the Sugar Land Community Center at 7:00 a.m.


Price is $69; resident discount price is $55. Price includes transportation and boat fees.
Registration begins January 11; early registration for residents begins January 4.

Bluebonnets and More

Texas is known during the spring for its beautiful wildflowers growing all over the state. We will certainly see a few on our tour to Old Baylor University (first private university in Texas), the Alpacas and a visit to one of the local wineries.

Buffalo Bayou

Wednesday, April 21

Come cruise with us as we tour where the Allen Brothers first landed and founded Harrisburg and where a large colony of Mexican Free Tail Bats call home. Before we embark on this adventure, we will dine downtown.

Paragon Casino

Wednesday & Thursday, May 19 & 20

Off we go to the fun-filled gambling adventure to Marksville, LA. Will lady luck be on our side?

Price is $54 per person for a double and $67 per person for a single; resident discount price is $43 per person for a double and $53 per person for a single. Price includes transportation, hotel, $20 cash play and $10 meal voucher.

Broadway Across America "Young Frankenstein"

This Mel Brooks inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that's Fronkensteen) as he attempts to create a monster--but not without scary and hilarious complications.

Broadway Across America "Wicked"

Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch of the North makes for "the most completely satisfying new musical in a long time."
