Emergency call boxes installed along Oyster Creek Trail
Safety for those using the trail system at Oyster Creek has been greatly enhanced by the addition of five emergency call boxes. These boxes have a push button speakerphone that directly dials the Sugar Land Police Department.
Police can determine which location along the trail has been activated, and each unit has a beacon light to alert the responding officer to where assistance is required.
The call boxes will be a crime deterrent as well as assisting trail users in the event they become injured or require emergency assistance while out on the trail.
