Sugar Land’s 12th Annual Christmas tree Lighting Event

Thursday, December 3, 2015
Sugar Land Town Square

Rainy weather conditions couldn’t keep the close to 10,000 attendees from heralding in the holiday season with Santa at Sugar Land’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting. Attendees enjoyed an evening of enchantment with a mixture of theatrical and audio presentation by some of the community’s most popular performers. However, entertainment wasn’t confined to the main stage, a giant inflatable maze, figure skaters, an ice queen and princess, and walk around entertainment could also be found on Town Square. Booths hosted by local retailers and businesses lined City Walk Drive with free activities for the entire family. Food, drinks, and treats were also available for purchase all evening.
This year Santa traded in his sleigh and rode into town with Mayor Thompson on a vintage truck in his favorite color, red! Santa wasn’t the only one from the North Pole to make an appearance; he brought the lovely Mrs. Claus, his helper elves, and a couple of his reindeers for a short break to assist with the lighting of Sugar Land’s 40 foot Christmas tree.

If you missed out on the fun this year, make sure to mark your calendar for next year on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Sugar Land Town Square.
