Sugar Land 101
Sugar Land 101 allows residents to familiarize themselves with the structure, function, and purpose of city government.

2015 Class
Sugar Land is again offering residents a great opportunity to learn, serve and lead the city. The 10 week 2015 Spring program begins January 2015 and provides an in-depth look at how our city runs.

Sugar Land 101, a course first introduced in spring 2004, allows citizens to familiarize themselves with the structure, function and purpose of city government. It better equips and encourages residents to assume leadership roles within the community. The curriculum includes presentations by city department heads and field trips to several sites such as the municipal airport, fire and police departments, water treatment plant, traffic operations. Members of the class also hold a Mock city Council meeting.
