The Zoning Board of Adjustment was established by Ordinance No. 774 and approved by Sugar Land City Council November 5, 1991.
To hear appeals from administrative decisions, hear and decide special exceptions and variances, and interpret the intent of the zoning ordinance.
Duties & Responsibilities
The City Charter provides that a zoning board of adjustment is established. The board has the powers and duties as provided by state law and city ordinance to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged there is error on any order requirement, decision or determination made by the building official in the enforcement of ordinances and to interpret the intent of the zoning district map. (Ordinance No. 1178, § 1, 6-15-99)
