Republic Services will begin providing garbage and recycling collection to Greatwood in Fall 2020. Residents of Greatwood are encouraged to select the garbage and recycle cart of their choice by using the cart selection form. Garbage and recycle carts are available in three sizes:

Greatwood residents currently receive solid waste collection from Best Trash. This service is based on an existing contract in place prior to Sugar Land’s annexation of Greatwood in 2017. With the expiration of that contract, Republic Services will begin providing collection to Greatwood as Sugar Land’s exclusive service provider.

Yes, all residents will receive the standard 95-gallon garbage and 65-gallon recycling cart unless a different cart size is requested between June 1 and June 30. To choose a different size, go to www.SugarLandTX.gov/GWCartSelection between June 1 and June 30, and submit the online request form.
Residents are encouraged to utilize their personal cart for green waste collection.
Best Trash will collect the recycle carts that were issued to Greatwood residents. Residents will receive further information during the Fall of 2020 regarding when collection will take place.
On-call household hazardous waste and electronics collection will be available upon the transition to Republic Services. Until that time, Greatwood residents can utilize the Fort Bend County Recycling Center at 1200 Blume Road, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
While Best Trash remains the service provider for Greatwood, residents can report missed collections directly to Best Trash at 281-313-2378 or the City by calling 3-1-1 or 281-275-2900.
Carts should be stored in compliance with your HOA deed restrictions. Ideally, the carts should be stored in your garage or behind fencing or brush. The city ordinance does not require the container be stored out of sight, but does require the cart not block or interfere with a sidewalk.
Please note that Best Trash does not provide garbage carts. Residents should either place bagged garbage into a personal cart or place garbage in a bag at the curb for collection.
Contact Best Trash at 281-313-2378 and notify them of the damaged or missing recycling cart. The recycling cart will be repaired or replaced if it is stolen or damaged beyond repair by any reason other than the customer’s own neglect or misuse.
Items in your personal garbage cart should be bagged to keep the cart clean. If you do not have a personal cart, you can place your garbage in a bag and place it on the curb for collection. Recyclables should be placed directly into the green Best Trash recycling cart without a bag.
A separate collection will be provided for certain large items defined as bulky waste. These items include stoves, refrigerators (Freon removed), furniture, and other large household items that cannot be broken down. Bulky waste does not include construction refuse, demolition refuse, or hazardous wastes. Please limit your bulky waste to 2 large items per collection.
