Solicitation Special Instructions
The Permit process begins with a completed application (link found below). Other items needed at time of application are a valid photo ID or Driver License, company ID, if applicable, and each applicant must supply a recent full-face color or black & white photo no larger than 1X1.
Forms of payment acceptable are checks, money orders, debit card, mastercard, visa, or cash. Checks or money orders must be made payable to the City of Sugar Land. No refunds will be issued.
If said applicant is a corporation incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas, the corporation shall provide a certified copy of the charter or articles of incorporation to be attached.
If said applicant is a corporation incorporated under the laws of another State, the corporation shall provide a certified copy of its certificate of authority to do business in the State of Texas, and that shall be attached.
A permit may be denied if the applicant has been convicted of certain felonies or misdemeanors, or had other specific unfavorable judgments entered in the previous 5 years from date of application.
Upon approval, each applicant will receive a laminated badge with the provided picture and must be worn at all times while soliciting in the City of Sugar Land. A “No Soliciting Registry List” will also be provided to each applicant with the residents that have requested their address as “No Soliciting.” A permit can and will be revoked if a solicitor goes to an address on the “No Soliciting Registry.”
