Bags - Paper

Residents can recycle paper bags in your recycling bins, except for gift bags. Gift bags have a waxy coating that makes them difficult to recycle. Please reuse them for another gift or place them in your trash.

Bags - Plastic

Grocery plastic bags, dry cleaner bags, plastic food bags or plastic newspaper sleeves cannot be placed in your recycling bin.

Many retail grocers such as Krogers, H.E.B., Randalls, Wal-Mart and Whole Foods collect and recycle plastic bags. Look for the specially marked containers at these stores.

Bathroom Cleaners

If the bottles are not empty, please take them to the Fort Bend County Recycling Center. Empty bottles made from #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #7 plastic, can be recycled in your recycling bin or at the recycling center located at 111 Gillingham Lane.

Don't dump it! - Never put anything into a storm drain! If you have usable leftover items, share them with family or neighbors. Used oil, old paint and other household chemicals may not be placed in your trash for collection.

Batteries

Residents can recycle household rechargeable and car batteries at the Fort Bend County Recycling Center where they will be recycled or disposed of safely. Common non-rechargeable household batteries can be disposed of in your regular household trash.

Car batteries can also be taken back to stores that sell them. There is often a fee for this service. A metal recycler may even pay you for your car battery. Check the yellow pages under "Recycling Centers" for a list of recyclers.

If the bottles are not empty, please take them to the Fort Bend County Recycling Center. Empty bottles made from #1, #2, #3, #4, #5 and #7 plastic, can be recycled in your recycling bin or at the recycling center located at 111 Gillingham Lane.

Bulky items, such as shrubs, clippings and tree limbs, are considered heavy trash and will be collected on either collection day. Limbs must be less than 4" in diameter and less than 4' in length. It is helpful, but not required, to tie or bundle limbs. Stumps and large limbs that are not cut into firewood size pieces (2' x 6") will not be collected. Residents are limited to a maximum of 15 cubic yards per collection arranged in piles 3' x 3' x 3' easily handled by one person.
