Joe Morris

Joe Morris has served as City Attorney since 1991. Prior to coming to Sugar Land, he served as assistant city attorney in the cities of Denton and Galveston. As city attorney, Joe provides legal advice to the City's executive team, the City Council and various boards and commission on a broad range of issues, including Constitutional law, employment and land use matters, revisions to the City's Charter and redistricting.

Mr. Morris is a member of the Texas City Attorneys Association and the International Municipal Attorneys Association, where he has spoken on risk management issues. He received his Juris Doctor from the South Texas School of Law.
