Overview

As Sugar Land’s records authority, the City Secretary Department records, certifies, preserves, manages and makes accessible sufficient information to ensure continuity in government. The department provides documented accountability of the City of Sugar Land's policies, functions and transactions in order to protect both the legal and financial rights of its citizens.

In accordance with the City Charter, Federal and State Law; the department provides the public with information and assists to locate government data maintained by and for the City.

By developing and using state of the art technology and methodologies to fulfill our responsibility, the department continues to preserve today, tomorrow and the past.
