Summary |
||||
|
During
the week of April 11-17, National Public Safety Telecommunications Week is
the time when people from all over the public safety field and beyond, express
appreciation for the people who make telecommunications work. The week was
started by Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO)
member, Patricia Anderson in 1981 in Contra Costa, California, and has grown
into a national celebration. In 1991, the second, full week of April was
proclaimed National Public Safety Telecommunications Week by Congress. When a resident of our community has a problem, the first person they speak with is one of our Telecommunicators. Many times, they serve as a life line; many more times as a source of comfort. We are very proud of these dedicated employees. |
