Recommended Action
Review recommendations to amend the ordinance regarding the name and duties of the Parks and Recreation Policy Advisory Board.
Executive Summary
The purpose of this workshop is to review the current role and responsibilities of the Council-appointed Parks and Recreation Policy Advisory Board and compare their scope with other Parks and Recreation Advisory Boards in select cities. The Parks Department is recommending changing the name of the Board to more accurately communicate the “advisory” role and amending the ordinance to clarify, and possibly broaden, the roles and responsibilities of the Parks and Recreation Policy Advisory Board based on direction received from the City Council at this workshop.
