Summary
|
|
With the upcoming consideration of a baseball stadium
partner and the results of the Brazos River Park PER, this workshop will provide
the City Council with insight into the planning and coordination that is
being done to ensure that all of the major elements that have been programmed
will successfully function individually and as a whole.
In addition to the infrastructure planning in Brazos River
Park Phase II, discussions with UH regarding the necessary easements for the
elevated storage tank, relocation of the 45-acre lease site, and other
approval components are ongoing. Reassessment of the original revenue
assumptions and pro forma of the baseball stadium is being performed in
addition to extensive financial planning pertaining to potential funding
sources for the project. Council’s selection of a baseball development
partner will initiate the time line for drafting numerous agreements based on
the City’s infrastructure development time line.
The coordinated planning and implementation efforts
pertaining to the Brazos River Park Phase II design with the festival site
and baseball stadium as well as the infrastructure needed to support the
park, baseball stadium and UH campus are crucial to the successful completion
of the Baseball stadium for Opening Season 2012.
