Whereas, active participation in organized athletics is influential to building good sportsmanship among our youth and in order to excel in any one sport, a young person must demonstrate an outstanding spirit of dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work; and

Whereas, a vivid example of this has been established by the achievements of the Red Rockers, a team of ten year olds, who finished as District 16 Champions, Section 3 Champions, and East Texas State Runner-ups; and

Whereas, you are to be applauded for an exciting, hard-fought, and successful season and we are proud of the record you have earned;

Now, Therefore, I, James A. Thompson, on behalf of the members of City Council, and by the virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Sugar Land, Texas, do hereby recognize the Red Rockers for their fine efforts and extend this expression of our pride in your accomplishments by your good sportsmanship and inspired team play.
