Review and discuss emergency notification services for the City of Sugar Land. |
Executive Summary |
The City’s ability to notify its employees and citizens in a timely manner during a major incident like a hurricane, tornado, flooding or evacuation is of critical importance. Providing accurate and timely incident information is the goal. The acquisition of an emergency notification system will enable City staff to make emergency notifications to employees, business owners, and its residents alerting them of emergency situations and providing them with the related instructions and information. In addition to using the system in emergency situations, it could also be used for Community Outreach, Staff Communication, and as a Survey Instrument if deemed necessary. A team of various departments researched various systems, interviewed vendors and checked references. Staff will present City Council with our recommendation to acquire and utilize a system in Sugar Land. |
