Whereas, active participation in organized athletics is influential to
building good sportsmanship among our youth and in order to excel in any one
sport, a young person must demonstrate an outstanding spirit of dedication,
enthusiasm, and hard work; and
Whereas, a vivid example of this has been established by the achievements
of the Dulles Vikings who advanced to the 5A Region
III Championship game in Austin, Texas – ranking 2nd out of 280
school – and holds a record of 34-5; and
Whereas, you are to be applauded for an exciting, hard-fought, and
successful season and we are proud of the record you have earned;
Now,
Therefore, I, David Wallace, on behalf of
the members of City Council, and by the virtue of the authority vested in me as
Mayor of the City of Sugar Land, Texas, do hereby recognize the John Foster
Dulles Vikings Boys Basketball Team for their Championship efforts and extend
this expression of our pride in your accomplishments by your good sportsmanship
and inspired team play.
