Executive Summary |
|
These proposed improvements include the construction of a
regional detention pond and storm sewer to serve the area known as the
Triangle, which includes \ Klotz
Associates completed the final construction plans and documents for this
project. The project will provide for approximately 13.4 acre feet of
additional storm water detention capacity.
The scope of work includes expanding the existing static level
detention pond located at the southwest quadrant of the intersection of US59
and US90A. Also included are installation of approximately 1,200 linear feet
of 72” storm water conveyance line to divert flow to the pond, a concrete
bulkhead on the new portion of the pond, and the installation of conduit and
sleeves to support a future landscaping project at this location. In 1998, Ordinance No.1129 was approved which imposed on-site drainage detention requirements for the undeveloped properties in this area. The ordinance also provided for the payment of a storm water drainage fee in lieu of on-site detention. The City has been collecting fees as development has occurred. To date, $315,666.00 has been collected and included in the budget for this project. Bids for the construction of the project were opened on November 30 and L.N. McKean, Inc. submitted the lowest responsible bid out of three prospective bidders. The construction time allotted for the improvements is 90 calendar days. Based on the current schedule and City Council award of a construction contract, we anticipate issuing notice to proceed effective January 2, establishing an estimated completion of the project in April 2007. Additional efforts continue in identifying drainage needs and potential improvements within the Sugar Creek area. |
