Recommended Action

Accept the donation of $2,500 for a drinking fountain to be placed along the Oyster Creek Trail and adjust the budget by $2,500 in revenues and expenditures.

Executive Summary

The Anish Patel Foundation, founded by Mr. Raj Patel to honor the memory of his son who was tragically killed in an automobile accident, wishes to donate a drinking fountain to be placed along the Oyster Creek Trail in Lost Creek Park.  Mr. Patel and his family enjoy the parks and trails in Sugar Land.  The drinking fountain incorporates a 5” x 7” plaque that will state “Donated by the Anish Patel Foundation”.

The requested fountain is not included in the Parks Department budget, therefore, a budget adjustment is also requested to reflect the $2,500 donation revenues and expenditure of funds to purchase & install the fountain. The City certainly appreciates this donation by  the Foundation.
