Staff recommends Council award a contract for Police Uniforms and Accessories to Lone Star Uniforms for patrol uniforms, outer wear, ballistic and tactical vests in the amount of $91,000. Staff also recommends Council award contract for accessories and leather equipment to GT Distributors in the amount of $12,000. |

|
Police uniforms are replaced as needed throughout the year because of the constant wear and tear. On August 31, 2006 bids were opened for the Police Uniforms and Accessories. Two bidders submitted responsive and responsible bids. Lone Star Uniforms was the overall low bidder in the patrol uniforms, outer wear, ballistic vest and tactical vest categories. GT Distributors was the overall low bidder in the accessories and leather equipment categories. Both vendors have provided uniforms, accessories and leather equipment to the City with a satisfactory track record in previous years. |
