Review and discuss 2008-2012 Capital Improvement Program |

Executive Summary |
||||
The Parks and Recreation Department’s five year Capital
Improvement Program projects reflect the City Council goals of a Well Planned
Community, Responsible City Government, and a Livable City; and the
Comprehensive Plan goals including Goal 1:
Safe and Beautiful City;
Goal 3: Effective Land Use and Goal 9: Parks, Recreation, Leisure, and Open Space.
Each year as part of the City’s budget process, the Capital Improvement program forecasts capital expenditures for the next five years. Annually, staff reviews the previously identified projects and capital projects received from citizens for consideration. Staff will present the projects to be considered in the 2008- 20012 capital improvement programs with the Parks and Recreation Policy Advisory Board. The proposed CIP projects will then be presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission who will make a recommendation to the City Council. The amount of money funded and the source of funding are established later in the process by the Finance Department and City Management.
These projects are in accordance with the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan and the City’s Urban Beautification Policy.
