Executive Summary

 

For the second consecutive year, America's Promise -The Alliance for Youth selected the City of Sugar Land and the Fort Bend ISD as a winner of a national competition to identify 100 Best Communities for Young People. The winning communities -ranging from small towns to urban neighborhoods across America are being celebrated for their commitment to provide healthy, safe and caring environments for young people.

 

The Texas Association of Partners in Education also recognized the partnership of Sugar Land and Fort Bend ISD at its annual conference.  A gold certificate was awarded to the City and to Fort Bend ISD for the 2007 Texas Government/Agency Partnership.  This award specifically recognized the Internet Safety and the DollarWise programs developed and presented in Fort Bend ISD classrooms.  Present from Fort Bend ISD for the recognitions will be Dr. John Frossard, Chief Academic Officer and Steve Smelley, President of the Board of Trustees.
