IMPERIAL REDEVELOPMENT DISCTRICT

Establishment:
  In June 2007 Resolution No. 07-21 was approved consenting to the creation of Imperial Redevelopment District; the District has the powers provided for in Chapters 49 and 54 of the Water Code.
   
Duties & Responsibilities:
 

Board members govern the district and have the authority to act on issues of:

  • Implementing or contracting with other entities to implement a Tax Increment Financing District Project Plan.
  • Developer requests for infrastructure reimbursement pursuant to the Statutes and the City Development Agreement with Cherokee.
  • Issuing bonds to finance eligible project costs.
  • Establishing District ad valorem tax rates.
   
Membership:
  Five members appointed to serve two-year terms.
