Sugar Land Boards and Commissions
Boards and commissions are a vital part of city government providing an opportunity for citizen involvement in the governing processes and in communicating policies to the community.
The policy of the City Council is to annually appoint citizens to serve on various boards and commissions. Each board and commission exercises a number of advisory and quasi-judicial powers and functions that are essential or useful to the operation of city government.
Terms of office are for one year and begin October 1st and end September 30th or with the calendar year in January, depending on the type of board.
The City would not be what it is today if not for the role of citizen involvement in the processes of the city and in providing City Council with input. The Mayor and Members of City Council encourage you to be involved with your city.
A brief description of the duties, responsibilities, and time commitment available by clicking on the Board/Commission name.
