Deadline Nears for Citizen Academies

Sugar Land, TX - Citizen academy applications are due Dec. 31.

The programs provide opportunities for residents to learn about the roles of the fire department and the police department through hands-on instruction and experiences.

  • submit an online volunteer application;
  • commit to attend all sessions of the programs typically held on Thursday evenings; and
  • live or work in Sugar Land or the Extra Territorial Jurisdiction.

Additional qualifications and more information about individual academies are available online https://volunteer.sugarlandtx.gov/pages/getinvolved. Applications are available at https://volunteer.sugarlandtx.gov. Questions may be sent to volunteer@sugarlandtx.gov. Enrollment is limited.
