Police Search for Shoplifters Who Fought with Store Employees

Sugar Land, TX - Sugar Land police are looking for three people who stole merchandise from JC Penney, 16529 Southwest Freeway, on July 2 just before 3 p.m.

Two women were seen leaving the store with stolen merchandise in their purses. They were confronted in the parking lot by loss prevention officers, who attempted to retrieve the purses. The employees were scratched during a struggle for the purses before the women and another man drove away in a silver passenger car. One of two purses was recovered.

A review of surveillance video in the store showed the women placing the merchandise in purses. One was a heavy-set Hispanic female with a brown pony tail. She was about 5 feet 4 inches tall and wearing large sunglasses, a white shirt and blue jeans. The other woman was a tall, thin Hispanic with brown hair and blonde streaks. She was about 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing a dark navy shirt and blue jeans.
